From the federal government contracting service, MERX, comes this tender offer to supply the Canada Revenue Agency with a selection of gifts to give employees for long-term service. These go to staff marking “milestones” between 15 and 40 years of pensionable time.
I found this highly depressing.
Each Long Service Awards milestone shall include one (1) gifts election from each of the following classifications:
1) One (1) jewellery item (such as a watch, ring, necklace and/or chain, earrings, money clip, tie clip, cuff links, bracelet, locket, broche, etc.);
2) One (1) additional jewellery item (such as a watch, ring, necklace and/or chain, earrings, money clip, tie clip, cuff links, bracelet, locket, broche, etc.). Non- standard size of rings shall be made available upon request. All the jewels shall be treated against tarnishing
3) One (1) timepiece item (such as a desktop, mantle or wall clock, etc.); 4) One (1) lifestyle item (such as sporting equipment, luggage travel set, wallet,
purse, personal grooming item, decorative board game set, etc.); 5) One (1) art piece (such as a sculpture or art print, etc.); 6) One (1) home décor item (such as a serving platter, candlestick holders, vase,
decorative bowl, picture frame, wine glasses, flask, decanter set, lamp, etc.); 7) One (1) electronics item (such as a camera, telephone, MP3 player, personal stereo, DVD player, GPS, etc.). and(8 ) One (1) item from any classification selected by the Contractor (the Contractor may propose an item from any type of classification of its choice, including one of the classifications listed above).
Further Loman-like details of the trinkets required for employee awards are in the PDF.
